Around Town During Art Walk

The weather has been spectacular this week. And, there is art all over town. What's not to like?

Not just Jack on Bench - Jack on Michigan Bench. Sugar is like "We're walking, not sitting, lets go."

The 14 to 17 age group artwork is on display at the library. We have some excellent young talent in the area.

Bikes lining up for the bike parade on Saturday.

Bikes at Waterfront Stadium for judging.

It's a cookie. It's a bike.

A sampling of the art on display...

Kid's paintings hanging up to dry.

There is art all over town. Get out and see it. And as always, the waterfront is beautiful and well protected.

Irish Music Fest and Montague Weathervane

This weekend was Michigan Irish Music Fest. A good time was had by one and all. A sampling of pictures...don't forget, you can click on them to make larger.

Park on the way from the hotel to the Fest.

Highland Games

Before heading home on Sunday, we went to Montague to see the world's largest weather vane. It is big.

For those into wine, the grocery store by the weather vane has a VERY large wine selection from around the world.

Surf's Up and Tree's Down

On Wednesday, the surf was up on the Big Lake.

When we were on the beach, there were a couple swimmers, but no surfers. The Tribune has more pictures, including surfers, here: http://www.grandhaventribune.com/gallery/1114101

The dying tree on the property between our neighbor and her neighbor came down on Friday. We were very impressed with the skill of the men taking the tree down. It is a very tight space and it was amazing how fast and neat they brought it down.

Note the log falling.

This is going to change the amount of sunlight our garden gets in a good way. The right field flower garden will remain a shade garden. But the partial shade areas may move to partial sun. The area where I have my pots for tomatoes and peppers will now definitely be in full sun.

We clearly have had enough rain - mushroom in the grass.

Pink is doing very well. She appears to like her new home.

Pictures

Last night Jack and I went to a wonderful presentation at the library on taking pictures.

"Learning to See Creatively" presented by http://www.imagesbyjennifer.net/

So on the way home I took some pictures. Sadly, all the pictures I took using zoom didn't turn out so I'll have to figure out what was up with that.

FYI In case you didn't know, you can click on the picture to see it larger.

It was the time of day with "magic light."
