Salmon Fest and Art Fair

This weekend was Salmon Fest in Grand Haven. When we were there midday on Saturday the tent was totally packed so we opted to not go in. But we did wander through the arts and craft booths. Check out the clouds. While it rained a little, the threatening clouds were just threatening.

With an open tent, the music can still be enjoyed from outside.

For the knitters, I give you the yarn ball dog in the window of the yarn and cross stitch store on 7th. And for those who say I'm never in a picture, check out the reflection.

And for the car lovers, a few interesting cars around town. The first one was visiting from California.

Very cute but I don't think I'd want to go on the expressway with it.

T-tops!

Our  neighbor's cars.

And the completed eye mural.

See you!

Cars, Cars, and More Cars

Well this morning walking in Grand Haven was a car lovers dream. All sorts of variety on display. I present them in order as seen. If you know Grand Haven, you'll be able to follow the path of my walk.

Batteries in camera died so I switched to cell phone camera.

Watch your speed!

For those that prefer water travel.

That's all!

Fall and ArtWalk

Fall officially starts tomorrow but the weather has been very Fall like - most enjoyable. I now have mums in right field in keeping with the season.

Jack finished fixing up the rocker. He did real nice job. I'll get a couple of months of outside use before it will have to come in for the winter.

ArtWalk started on Wednesday with a collaborative painting of this Arf bench.

Some art around town.

Not the usual car shots but pretty nice I think.

As far as work goes, I finished up the math curriculum standards indexing. Next up for indexing is counterinsurgency law. And I'm looking forward to our Dearborn trip next week. See you!

Guests in Town

This past weekend we had out-of-town guests. We had a great time showing them the town and catching up on what everyone has been up to. We of course started the tour of Grand Haven with a walk on the boardwalk down to the beach. And of course, we took a picture of our guests in front of the lighthouse.

We then walked back into town and had dinner at Tip. Everyone enjoyed it and Debbie was knocked back by the Margarita she had. "I've never actually tasted the tequila in a Margarita before." She liked it!

After a late night of chatting and catching up, we started Friday with French Toast and headed out to check out the new chocolate factory (a big hit),  museum and shops in town. A very happy shopper...

Then over to check out the train and coal tipple.

Then it was time for a little refreshment before dinner so we headed over to the VFW. MP Jack Russel said "Hi Woof" to our guests and everyone had a great time inside.

We had dinner at 22 with its wonderful view and then it was off to the musical fountain.

The power plant looks nice lit up at night.

We started Saturday with a walk to Eastown for bakery goods and jerky. Then headed up to Irish Fest in Muskegon but first a stop by Spring Lake.

Jack and others playing in the session tent.

Beautiful waterfront.

Fly over!

Jack with a stout.

And of course, dancing and music.

Our guests left for home from the fest. A good time was had by one and all.

Happy Birthday Adam

Well about this time today in 1974 I was having a baby. Today that baby is a wonderful man, he was a pretty wonderful kid too. He always loved cars. So on my walk into town last evening I said I'll take him some car pictures. However, it was a pretty slow night for cars. But there was this...

While they are "just" cars and trucks. It appears that mother nature is smiling on one of them.

Happy Birthday Adam!
